"the new year means nothing if you're still in love with your comfort zone."

first off, to anyone that may be reading this: HAPPY NEW YEAR!
i hope you all had an amazing new year's celebration and that your 2015 is off to an amazing start :)
i spent my NYE with some friends and jenn at bowling alley - turnt, i know.
albeit extremely low-key, it was a lot of fun and was exactly how i wanted to ring in my new year - with laughs, good eats and a champagne toast at midnight.

random snapshots:
cheers to 2015.
because what else does one do when they come across a bentley?

this time last year, instead of making resolutions, i opted to create a personal manifesto.
i printed them out and posted them all around my bedroom and my workplace office.
now, i'm not sure if my plastering them around the places i spent the most time had anything to do with it but when i look back on the year that was 2014, i can truly say that i adhered very well to my manifesto.

in the spirit of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!", i decided to put together a new manifesto for the new year:
there's a quote i came across sometime last year that, for whatever reason, stayed with me.
it's attributed to albert einstein and goes: "if you do what you always did, you will get what you always got."
when i looked back on my 2014, i realized that some of my greatest moments occurred when i ventured outside my comfort zone.
so, this is my sole goal/resolution/desire for 2015: to live outside my comfort zone.

a simple search on google lead me to an array of images and quotes that stressed the beauty of leaving one's comfort zone.
it was hard for me to narrow down the selection but here are the "few" that really spoke to me:
so here's to a year of stepping outside my comfort zone, taking risks and seeing where life takes me.
as a quote i saw once read: "i rather have a life of oh wells than what ifs.

happy new year, again!
:)

ps. throwback to the time i took a photo with my cousins, tania and ricardo, his wife and their kids at my cousin saturne's wedding.
upon seeing said photo, i mentioned that it should be their 2014 family christmas card.

well, flash forward to today when i get this gem in the mail:
they make me smile.

  1. The title of this post alone made me want to continue reading its so insightful. The personal manifesto sounds like an awesome idea. I did the same thing with a test and I passed, seeing your goal everyday is definitely a source of constant motivation. good luck and I will keep this mind whenever I feel trapped in comfort zone. x

  3. What an amazing quote to keep your dreams in tact! It's one that I'm often reminded of, but like any other quote or positive message, they're just words until someone puts them into action. I think in keeping with the theme of comfort zones-I have to learn how to not crawl back into my comfort when the it gets too hard or uncomfortable, because I think it ruins the point if you keep going back. Thanks for sharing these words of encouragement!

  7. Happy New year! Love the quotes you put together. I'm def. someone who is living in their comfort zone, and really trying to come out of it. I think sometimes if your not a risk taker it becomes very difficult. However, with time hopefully things change.
